Both my fiancée and my passport's are expired & for our honeymoon we're going to do a cruise out of Puerto Rico. It's basically the US Virgin Islands, Antigua & Grenada. So basically I'm under the assumption we only need a passport card correct? Is there other items we should be taking with us on our trip fpr ID/verification?

If your passports are expired, so is your passport card. Just renew the passport. The passport card is pretty useless except to drive into Canada and maybe Mexico.

Yep, all you need is a passport card. See: Passport Cards

I'd also bring a driver's license just in case, or if you want to rent a car while overseas for any reason.

A card is the same as a passport book EXCEPT you can't fly. It costs about half what the book costs. You can use the card on cruise ships.

Just get the passport. It's good everywhere for 10 years. The cards are meant to be used by people who cross the border to MX and CA regularly.

This. I'm always amazed when people ask if they need a passport to travel out of the country. JUST GET ONE and renew it 8 months before it expires. One less stress to deal with in life.

You don't NEED one at all. None of the Caribbean countries require a passport from American Cruise passengers. But if you get one, get the book...the card will do you no good if you have to fly.

Is one or both of you changing your name after the wedding? If you are, it might be easier to treat the passport card as a 'throwaway' (toss into safety deposit or important documents box, not actual trash can) that's issued under your old name and then wrangle all the name change stuff including driver's license, social security card, and full book passport after you get back from the honeymoon rather than mess with making sure all the names on your id match airline reservations, cruise reservations, hotel reservations, etc.

If you're keeping current names, I'd just go with the full passport at this point and make plans to use it again for your five year anniversary.
