We relocated from Texas to the Netherlands this past August. A couple of my best friends want to meet up and do our annual girls weekend. I'm assuming NYC would be the most convenient place to meet up. But are there any other places that would be fun and sort of in the middle? Would probably be looking to go in April/may.

I'm just kind of worried about jet lepag for me. It's an hour difference for them, but will be a 6 hour difference for me in NYC.

Suggestions or thoughts?

Are they willing to fly into "Any" place?

NYC, BOS, Chicago, DC, ATL (Also PHL, Charlotte)

All should have good non/stop flight from both Texas and the Netherlands. Depending on what you want to do. You Could Fly in the day before and rest up.

Most Flights from AMS are going to get into US Mid/Late Afternoon. If you can get a Late Thursday night flight that gets into the US Early Friday that gives you Friday Day to Catch up on JetLag.

Canary Islands?

Iceland?

Unless you're specifically looking for "the middle" you're going to the US East coast, and will have to deal with it.

Actually, I'd go to Montreal. The Canadian dollar is at a 15 year low, and you could really have a good time.

I was looking at Montreal. I been to NYC, but never been to Montreal, so that has appeal to me. Will see if they are game for that.

I second the idea of Montreal. Or even Quebec City. The only downside to that over NYC is it's easily more expensive to fly into Canada.

Not if you pay in Canadian dollars. I've been doing my Asia trips out of Toronto. Business class tickets are half price compared to the US.

Well Toronto and Vancouver have a massive Asian market so that might skew those flights. In any case I was referring to her friends flying from TX...I'd guess comparable flights to NYC would be half the price of flying into YUL or even YYZ. It may not be a big deal though, just thought I'd mention the only possible negative. (well I guess also that they all must have passports...)

Actually, NYC isn't necessarily in the middle. Flights from Britain and Europe often fly over the pole, so Seattle, Vancouver island, even San Diego, are probably going to be about the same expense for all of you.
