I'm lazy so usually I'll just leave my bags/suitcases lying around while I relax and get used to being back at home. If it's something like a laptop or toothbrush/toothpaste, however, I'll try my best to take care of it ASAP.

Toiletries are usually taken care of same day (since I need them to get ready for bed) and laptop is always taken care of nearly immediately, but I will admit to my suitcase being out (and shuffled around the room) for an embarrassing number of days later.

This is especially the case when a lot of my clothes in the suitcase are not seasonally/temperature appropriate for home. It takes less priority than getting the rest of our mess back into some order.

This is 100% exactly what I do as well.

When I return home, no. I'm almost never happy to be back in my home, so I feel depressed for a few weeks and mope around.

I unpack almost everything in the laundry room right away. And I sometimes start a load or two of laundry. On the other hand, I pack slowly.

YES.. almost immediately. My wife on the other hand, travels a lot and I have to eventually MOVE her suite case out of the way of the back door a few days after she has returned..

Usually too beat. I'll at least dig out dirty clothes and other things for the next day but I'd rather relax a bit.

Depends on when we get home. If it is late, just the toiletries. However in the afternoon, usually try to empty out suitcase, car . Makes me more relaxed knowing I don't have to do that later. Besides, being cooped up for a long time , I have extra energy.

Never in my life have I thought about when I unload the luggage. I guess it all gets unloaded, sooner or later.

My husband still has a bag sitting on his side of the bedroom from a trip to St. Thomas we took last October. He threw some new things in it when we went on a trip to a national park last month. It's still sitting on his side of the bedroom, and he's now packing it for a cruise next week. I've totally given up on changing his ways. He says it's nice to have a bag out, reminding him that a fun trip is coming.
