I just got back home from staying a week with my parents last week. I packed a full suitcase and washed/folded all the laundry and have kind of been picking items out the suitcase to wear all week. By the end of the week, I'll probably have emptied the suitcase. All the clothes are neatly packed.
Do you unload clothes this as soon as you get home from traveling?
Same day, no matter how late. Dirty stuff goes in the laundry room, shoes out of bags, toiletries out (I might need something next morning), everything else out too (I might sort it next day). Suitcase will stay open in the garage to air for the next 2-3 days. Then I will close it and put into storage.
Unload the truck or car into the garage? Yes, unfortunately, due to the prospect of break ins.
Now, unload that cargo to whatever ends? The laundry won't be to the next laundry day and I'm afraid I'm rather bad about unloading other things in a timely matter, with one or two exceptions.
I unpack and start washing clothes immediately. If it was a road trip I unload the SUV, drain the cooler, put the folding chairs away etc. as soon as we get home. I like to
Just get it done then I feel like I can relax.
I might not unpack as soon as I get home, because I frequently get in after midnight, and I just want to collapse into bed. However the next day, I unpack everything. All the clothes go into the laundry (or into the dry cleaning bag to drop of in the next few days) and all the toiletries are put away. Putting away the toiletries is pretty easy, since I keep everything in the travel bag, and just refill as needed. I just put the whole bag of toiletries into the closet. My makeup is in a separate bag, and that just lives on the bathroom counter. I can be unpacked in less than 5 minutes.
It depends. I usually unpack my toiletries right away. Put my toothbrush back in it's rightful place, everything else back, so I can use it later, but clothes? Sometimes, I let them sit in the suit case for a week or two before I unpack. Just lazy. Especially if I do not plan on wearing any of the clothes in my suitcase, I wont bother to unpack right away.
