Two part question/game:

1) What are the coolest random places/things you've found while browsing Google Map's Street View (I assume I'm not the only one who routinely does this)

2) Have you ever visited that place in person afterword?

My first one: Vantage Bridge, crossing the Columbia River in Washington State. In the right light, I could see an amazing picture here, but I haven't visited it.

That is an awesome location, I've been there many times. Most recently, this past June:

I know it isn't really random but I saw myself walking out of my office building on Google Maps. Even though they blurred out my face, I'm 99% sure it's me. I do browse Google Maps occasionally but I can't recall anything I've come across randomly that was really cool.

I don't have a specific example but I like to click on the Google map images that allow me to move up and down the street to see what the neighborhood is like before booking a hotel.

I don't know if this qualifies, but ...

Years ago when I was living in New Zealand I took a beautiful picture that pretty much summarized a lot of the country: empty road, sheep grazing in near foreground, many-hued Pacific in the distance, and a mountain with a precipitous drop to the ocean to the left. When I realized Google had pretty much mapped everywhere in NZ, I "drove" the roads until I found the exact spot where I took the picture. Kind of pointless, yes, but also kind of cool & fun.
