With the current thawing in relations between the two Countries, would folks from the US be inclined to visit?

This is a travel, not a political question.

I’d love to go there, it would be like a time capsule returning to life of the 50’s & 60’s…… could be very interesting. Art and food would be so different from what we've seen here in the U.S.

Not a chance, I wouldn't spend a dime to go there.

I would love it and would go in a heartbeat, but it's still very expensive.

I've heard mixed reviews of Cuba for travel for those that go (Europeans, Canadians) - one is that it just isn't up to western travel standards - bad food, bugs in the rooms, uncomfortable. Others say it isn't a problem and/or it doesn't bother them. Another is the reputation it has for creepy European sex tourism (taking advantage of the poverty - I think however that is mostly stamped out).

There are a lot of tropical carribbean islands out there, with lots of excellent resorts to choose from, besides the "forbidden fruit" nature of Cuba I don't see what it has going for it in comparison to the competition.

i've been... +1 bad food. +1 too hot +1 some bugs. Biggest problem is the heat, and lack of air conditioning. Lack of internet too. Don't think there is any reason to go until the standards come up. The other islands nearby offer much more. But the standards won't come up unless you travel now and spend your money...

I would love to see Havana in all it's urban decay shabbiness before it gets rebuilt into some cosmopolitan city .
Not looking for tropical beaches and resorts, can find them all over Caribbean.
