relaxing single woman needs vacation
I need to get away for 4 or 5 days. Im from Colorado and havent been to many places but I have had a horrible year and want to go away alone and just relax in a quiet place with a book and a drink and not be bothered to much. I cant go to far because of my dads health and i cant spend more than 1500. Please help!

A chair in the sand on the beach was my first thought, but that would probably take you too far away, and cost too much, so how about just visiting another part of Colorado (or another nearby state)? Get a hotel room with a great view of the Rockies (or the plains, if that's your preference), and read your book when you're not looking out at the scenery. That way, you will still be close by, and will have some time to read your book and enjoy a drink, without the hassle of traveling any great distance. It might be even a little better if you can be close to restaurants and such, in case you want to go out to eat or for a drink.
If you're looking for more excitement, you could go to Las Vegas, but that's not my idea of quiet (which you mentioned in your post).

Check out vrbo.com or vacationrentals.com -- you can find a rental close
to your area, such as cabin in the woods, etc. Good Luck.

nkotb is exactly right... I rent cabins all the time... everywhere I go... a Nature Preserve or a National or State Park are some really nice places to rent a cabin... if you live near a lake... I would most definitely look for a rental cabin near the water very relaxing

How far away can you travel? How about Sedona? or Carmel, CA?

Have you looked at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs? I've already booked a room there this summer for a girl's weekend with a childhood friend. According to Conde Naste, their spa is one of the top in the world. How about a weekend with a few spa treatments, a book, wine and room service? Sounds great to me! The other thing (don't know if this is too far) but my aunt just spend a week in Ixtapa at a spa that included all her meals and spa treatments and she spent less than $1000. You might want to google all-inclusive spas in Ixtapa if you're interested.
