I've worked in several corporate office environments, and when people go on vacation it is almost always one of the following:
1.) Cruises
2.) All-inclusive resort in Cancun or somewhere in the Caribbean
3.) Colorado
I've been all over Europe and East Asia, staying in hostels much of the time. My coworkers look at me like I'm nuts or they assume that it must cost a small fortune to visit "exotic" locations, although I have never spent more than $4k on a 2-3 week trip anywhere.
I assume they are just as boring in real life as they are in the office, so they lack the creative thinking required to visit places "outside the box."
Nah, has nothing to do with "outside the box." Heck they get that all day, every day at work. Think about what you just asked -- Cruise (which are pretty much all inclusive), all inclusive resort,. Basically after getting the crap beat out of you for 50 weeks a year, when you get that one week off, you want to go some where that waits on you and do absolutely NOTHING.
And Colorado? Well it's freaking beautiful place to be.
Seems that cruises, the carribbean ones at least, are mainstays of the blue-collar world (affordable, quick, convenient)...if one must differentiate them by type or class of work at all.
Don't strain your arm patting yourself on the back.....
Amen.
Worry about your vacation.. I am thrilled when people take their vacation time no matter where they go. And AI resorts are a fantastic way to kick back, relax, and recuperate with a cold drink or two in your hand.
I am heading to an AI in 65 days (but who is counting haha). I will be swimming in the ocean, trying new foods, shopping, exploring a new country, snorkeling, taking a glass bottom boat tour, paddle boarding, oh and RELAXING without worrying about paying for a thing once I land as it is all included. Boring? I think not.

Exactly.
The last "corporate office" I worked at had a wonderful mix of people who took all different types of vacations.
One guy was a foodie, who took trips where he could literally eat his way through the week or 10 days.
One gal took all-inclusive trips to Europe with her adult daughter each year.
A couple of people took the time to do missionary work.
Our manager spent 2 weeks every year in the same cabin at the coast.
And me? I'm well over the need to see how "exotic" my vacations can be. I'm at the point now where I thoroughly enjoy spending my time travelling around this beautiful state, and not having to deal with airports and itineraries.
I just heard a stat recently on how many vacation days are lost in this country each year. I forget the exact number, but I do recall that it's pretty staggering. My view is that as long as people are taking their vacation days, who in the world is in a position to judge what they do with them?
I think after working you just want a cruise or a vacation at a comfortable hotel. "Exotic" vacations require a lot of work and planning, and of course YMMV.
