Question about carry on
Morning all. I'm flying out tomorrow and haven't flown in a year. Have the airlines eased the restrictions on size of bottles-i.e. cream,etc-from the 3 oz to larger?

AFAIK it is still a 3-1-1 world, however:
Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
TSA link
I'll be flying next month for the first time since Feb '06 (been busy moving, then moving again).
I have a little clear quart-size carryon thingie. I always fly exclusively carry-on, and do hope to continue this.

Thanks Lacey--you have a good trip too.
I just remembered that I did travel by plane in summer of 'of '06, but I think that was right before the event that precipitated all this fuss about liquids.
I sure hope there aren't any more problems.

Basically you have to have EVERYTHING that is "liquid" in a container of 3oz or less. They then must all fit into a quart sized ziploc bag. I keep all medicine/prescriptions in a seperate ziploc bag from the other liquids and my daughters meds take up a full gallon size ziploc and have no problems. When you go thru security at the airport you will remove the ziploc bag with the liquids in it along w/ your ziploc of meds and put them in one of the plastic bins to go thru the scanner. Pretty easy and no big deal. I've had some security people want my dd's asthma meds OUT of the box that has the prescription label but most don't. I've also left my liquid makeup foundation in my makeup bag and been fine. They may pull it out and double check but no problems since it is still less than 3oz. Each person is allowed 1 quart sized ziploc bag of 3oz liquids but most meds are exempt from this.
FYI, SuperTarget has a GREAT selection of small travel sized personal needs. Everything from shampoos, conditioners, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, face cleasers, bath lotions, etc.

Thanks mom ( )
Yes, I was at Target awhile back and saw a little travel section, my CVS had a similar display. I don't usually use much makeup, but this is a wedding and obviously I'll want to look my best. I appreciate this thread and the advice in it.
Man, I remember when flying was actually fun.

Well, I took my trip, did the 3oz thing, and nobody so much as glanced at it.
I never even bothered taking the quart-sized bag out and putting it in the tray on the way back home, and nobody asked to see it.
I did have a good trip.

I have the same dilemma (flying to Germany tomorrow), and had to get the info on the website directly.
They change the restrictions every so often, and I wanted to be prepared.
Here's the website with the most recent updates.....
TSA | Transportation Security Administration | For Travelers
This comes directly from the website of TSA, specifically for travelers.
I read trough it yesterday, and it was very helpful in what to expect now......
Have a great vacation, and hope this info will help.
P.S. Oooops...I just noticed that other members were a bit quicker then I am....LOL....and posted links already to TSA.
Sorry 'bout that......but, at least you know now.....
