I used miles to book a flight to Oahu for 10 days. I have a family member who lives there so hopefully I'll be able to spend time with them.

Will go see family like normal. My folks have always had Thanksgiving, mostly it was just one side of family but now as everyone has gotten older, married, and had kids, people switch it up year to year, so now we might get those from the other side of the family every so often. No one in my more immediate family has ever traveled since we all live in the same area. If my in-laws do move in a few years, I imagine that will be the first time we end up traveling for the holidays.

I used to work in a field where I sometimes worked on Thanksgiving. Sometimes I would be outside and my area was pretty much dead (not a retail job). I always enjoyed the quietness of that time. On nice clear days I would look up into the sky and see one or two planes flying over and just wonder where those folks are headed, where did they leave from, why did they choose to fly on the holiday, etc..

That's nice. I'll be stuck on Oahu for Thanksgiving . . . would love to go see family off-island, but doubt that will be happening this year due to work scheduling, etc.
