Nah, those few germs didn't do anything to me, except boosting my immune system.
Would you go around with a big bottle of rubbing alcohol, or Lysol and disinfect everything around you, and all surfaces you would possibly touch? Bring your own pillows, sheets, covers, towels, toilet seats, clean all knobs and switches, chairs, menus, wash hands every time you touch money or credit card pad at the store, bring your own dishes and utensils - yes, they are full of invisible germs! What about the cloth napkins in a restaurant? Are they really washed, or those that appear clean are just re-folded? Is the table surface clean, or wiped with a towel that just cleaned 99 tables... and chairs, including baby seats?
You see what I meant? That's insane! (If you think they are clean, you are fooling yourself)

BTW: I do understand a problem with uncomfortable pillows, though. But that can be solved by asking for different ones.

You don't need to bring a pillow, just a pillow case. Make sure the pillow case is filled with mini bottles of liquor. You'll sleep like a baby.
