Jamaica: When leaving the beach owned by our resort you're instantly bombarded by locals trying to sell you trinkets, parasailing trips, massages, lobsters, etc. The few blacks whom I observed do the same thing they are left alone.
Belgium: I could pass for many nationalities and speak a little of different languages. It was amusing being mistaken for French, Irish, Italian, Middle Eastern etc.
London: I ordered something intriguing in an Curry house in London. The waiter told me that I would NOT like it as it would be far too spicy for my palette and suggested something else with dumbed down spices instead.
Yes about 15 yrs ago when I was in Italy and traveling with a group and I'm 5'11 , blonde and weighed about 105 dripping wet and some Italian guy comes up to me and says to me "supermodel yeah ?" and I said back to him in Italian , no just an American loving Italy . He walked away and one of the tour guides , an older gentleman said they always hit on the blondes cause being blonde over there is striking . I did not know that before I went there . So I guess everytime they see a tall blonde they go gah gah ....LOL .
I am white, old and female. I get stereotyped everywhere (for different reasons, depending on where I am and what the 'stereotyper' wants to get from doing it) .. but these days, it happens even more in my own country than anywhere else.
So what? Can't fix everyone .. it is going to happen to everyone most likely at some time or another .. I have a tough skin and broad shoulders.
Welp, I've been stereotyped at home and abroad. It's something us minorities simply accept and move on with our lives.
I understand at home, that part is clear. If you go international the minority changes though. I'm sorry that you experience that, but by going abroad most are stereotyped, nationally and by race.

On my honeymoon this past September, I was racially profiled about 4 times at different airports. At least. Probably another handful of times. I'm Hispanic, but based on the color of my skin, I could be confused with African American, Middle Eastern etc. The first time it was funny, but then when it kept happening I just started to get annoyed.
I wouldn't jump to the race conclusion just yet. I'm white and get harrassed by tsa every time. I've been forced through the metal detectors multiple times. First they say I'm going to fast then they say I'm walking too slow then they say I'm walking to fast and they say I'm walking to rigid and ask to pat me down. They love to harrass anybody who looks like they might make their day interesting.
I was traveling in Asia for business on 9/11/2002 (one year after 9/11). I was pulled aside while boarding flights (after clearing security) for "extra" inspections.
