Looking to get something for a young stylish woman who loves to travel and does a lot. She is also thrifty and smart. What have you found to be most useful, fun and stylish item to have when you travel?
A high quality lightweight travel umbrella. I guess it doesn't qualify as "fun" but most cheaper umbrellas are either so flimsy they break in a 10 kph wind or weigh far too much to be practical as something thrown into the backpack. An investment in a good umbrella helps in both rain or shine.
A fake product that is used as a stash. They sell them online, anything from hairbrushes that can be peeled open to hollowed out deodorant sticks that can be opened up. Throw some emergency cash and backup credit card in there, very unlikely a hotel maid is going to mess around with it.
Noise canceling headphones.....SO VERY essential on long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights and much more stylish and comfortable than the free ones the airlines give you. Ideally, Bose is the best but you can get really good ones for much less too.
A Therm-a-Rest travel pillow. My million miler sister tried mine out and was then online shortly afterwards to order one for herself. The small ones work well for both plane and hotel room.
A large pashmina scarf that can double as a travel blanket. Or other travel blanket. (Unfortunately Muji no longer sells their really awesome travel blanket in the USA because it's just awesome.)
A gift certificate for quality walking shoes.
A scarf with a hidden pocket for stashing money and passport
a pretty passport cover with RIFD blocker
A nice light weight under-seat carry-on with spinner wheels and telescoping handle.

What sort of traveling does she do, and what sort of budget are you working with?
If she does business travel and/or generally visits upscale locations, some high end luggage would be a great gift. My fiance is all about Tumi for being lightweight and stylish and durable. At a lower price point, some nice noise cancelling headphones or an e-reader might be nice.
If she is more about adventure travel, how about a high tech tension hammock or a nice internal frame backpack? A set of lenses that attach to a smart phone, or camera gear if she is a photo enthusiast. Travel towels and portable water filters are also great to have.
A mini luggage scale or high quality neck pillow are small things that any traveler could use.
I love my bagallini for traveling. If she travels a lot it's worth a look, they make tons of styles that are very lightweight and durable.
The Big Sydney style is my absolute favorite for traveling....I just wish they made slash-proof straps like Pac-Safe does.
