Best cruise line for an Alaska cruise (reservations, price, reviews)

Never been on a cruise before and would like to know which one is the best for your buck. looking for a 7 night stay. Thanks for your thoughts

we did a 7 day alaska cruise back in sept we used Royal Caribbean I have cruised before on both them & Carnival , RC blows Carnival away IMO
I also highly recommend getting a balcony cabin well worth the extra when we were in glacier bay we were able to see everything from our balcony and didn't have to fight the crowds down on deck
We also would sit out there and have coffee in the am and just watch the wonderful scenery

Princess, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines all offer the same itenerary and have similiar amenities. If it doesn't rain, you'll enjoy the cruise/trip.
We prefer Princess, have been on them 7 times. Carnival is more or less a party boat that caters a lot to the younger crowd, especially children. The 3 mentioned above cater to the older more subdued group.

LOL! I was thinking about the last cruise I took on the Carnival Elation. It was a repositioning cruise through the Panama Canal from Port Canaveral to San Diego. Seventy percent of the passengers were 70+. I thought my wife & I were the only youngsters aboard. I was talking to my travel agent about an Alaska cruise & what sort of folks cruise on Carnival's Spirit. She told me that it was an older crowd because most younger folks don't have the disposable income for a trip like this.

I've been cruising with Carnival for a few years & I like the value that they give you for the size of cabin. I've heard that its the Walmart of cruise lines & other stuff but its always interested me that they own Cunard, Princess, Costa, Holland America & Seabourn. They must be doing something right.

i have only sailed with royal carribean, and fine them to be real value for the price.

I have heard bad things about Carnival, plus they are big polluters and have been fined much more than average for dumping rubbish into the ocean, why would you want to support a company that is destroying the environment to pad their profits

Celebrity Cruises and Princess is always highly rated, RC also seems to be liked.

Thanks for the link. I notice that it seems to be a free for all on all the cruise lines, but then again there are people that will complain about everything.
