I like the beach and a touristic places.
Any advices?

I've been to Pattaya a number of times. We would would always get an intel brief on arrival. Among them were don't swim in the water and don't eat anything that came out of the local waters. That's because the bay is the dumping area for raw human sewage. Another part of the brief was to avoid the he/shes. It used to be you could spot them because of their Adams apple, but modern surgery has eliminated that clue. Nowadays, even the Crocodile Dundee hand grab check isn't a guarantee that you're getting the goods you're expecting.

Thailand has lots of different types of beaches, depends what you are looking for.

We prefer Ko Lanta since is quiet, accessible, and not too crowded. There are even more peaceful beaches but most are on the far end of the gulf side near Cambodia, not as easy to get to as the Krabi area where Lanta is. If you like touristy places just do the usual Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai route, you'll see lots of temples and have a good time.

I lived in Thailand for a couple years and still spend a lot of time there, mainly for the eating Anything you need to know just ask, I'll try to help if I can.

Ko phi phi leh has the most beautiful beach in Thailand (" The beach"). However, it is completely overun by massive number of tourists.

Phra nang beach in Krabi with its iconic sea stacks is also beautiful at dawn and sunset when the day tourists have gone.

Thank you, I would definitely go for one of your suggestions.

I was in Railay Beach and Ao Nang Beach (near Krabi).

Both were beautiful.

Pattaya is for partying, bars & bargirls... the beach there has been the recipient of raw sewage for decades, one goes there, typically males, for other reasons than swimming & nature. Phuket is Asia's main beach resort, think international hotels & tourists like Cancun, lots of restaurants, a dedicated wide open partying/bar area & then isolated 4-5 star resorts scattered around the island & a genuine real Thai town inland. It also has convenient access to many smaller islands for day trips or to get away from the crowds.

Many other smaller islands/seaside communities besides those mentioned above available too, absolutely stunning scenery & great food.

My advice: Bangkok luxury hotel first for a couple of days, though one can fly directly into Phuket internationally if you don't want the mega-urban overwhelming BKK; island beach in the south & Chiang Mai (by local flight) for a more pleasant city experience.

Both Krabi and Phuket have intl airports.

If going BKK -> Chiang Mai take the night train, it's a great experience for someone who's never taken an overnight train in SE Asia. Bonus = cost of train is offset by not paying for hotel. Must book ahead around Dec & Jan.

I found Krabi and Koh Phi Phi to be incredibly beautiful and worth a visit. Both would make my top 5 beaches in the world list. Bangkok is a fascinating city worth a few days of your time.
