I've been loving all of the threads from women venturing out on solo trips. I know for many years, many women were afraid to travel solo or were highly reluctant. Now it seems the tide has turned.

Let's use this thread to encourage other ladies to take solo journeys (in lieu of missing out on adventures).

Over the next 18 months or so, I've booked solo travel to:

Las Vegas
The Bahamas
Washington, DC
Disney World
Cuba

Ladies, where are your solo travels taking you?

I don't have any planned right now, but I've done a couple of solo trips to Las Vegas and loved every minute of it. Do what I want, when I want. Hotel room to myself. What's not to love?

I thoroughly enjoy solo travel, but it has to be travel with a purpose, not just go be a tourist in a new location.

For example, a couple of years ago I took a Road Scholar trip to Quebec to study French for three weeks. I have also done a volunteer stint in Israel. I also like to combine solo tourism with visiting family members who live in the area. This week I'm going to Chicago, where my son lives, and I'll be staying in a hotel, and doing tourist things while he's working, and visiting with him when he's free.

My next solo trip is coming up soon: Helsinki (with a possible day trip to Tallinn). Right now I'm feeling overwhelmed and under-prepared, but I know things have a way of working out once you're actually at the destination.

I've got money to travel this summer, but not enough days off in a row, so I'm doing local travel. I would like to spend two days exploring Madison (WI) and two more returning to the Iowa City area.

We've now got a direct flight to SLC from the DSM airport. Be still my heart! I want to go out and go skiing if nothing else this winter.

I don't have any solo trips planned. But I have done solo trips in the past whether it was for pleasure, work or to visit relatives/friends.

I tend to book last minute travel since my job schedule is too unpredictable to plan ahead. That usually means I travel solo.

This year was a ski trip to Lake Tahoe and a week long trip to Kauai. I will be doing a solo backpacking trip at Isle Royale National Park in early September.

Trying to figure out where I want to go next. I haven't decided on the next big goal for a major vacation. Maybe western Canada, maybe over to Europe?

I recently realized, though, that I'd been reluctant to just explore some stuff not far from home, just because I'd be solo. I was thinking next summer, I might go out to cottage country, and just rent a place on my own for a few days. Staycationing. Because why not? I guess I always just thought of certain vacation activities as being for families and couples-only.

I used to work for a major airline and I took solo trips as much as possible. Across the state,
Across the country, Europe, Asia, South America, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Cuba. Last year I took a solo trip to France and stayed 8 months ( lost my job over that). Lol
I have dual citizenship with France.
We got 50% off of Hotels and rental cars, great all inclusive deals at Club Med and Sandals, discounts of up to 90% off fares on other airlines and the time off work to enjoy the perks.
I was on FMLA when I was in France and needed more time. They gave me two more weeks to return to work or face termination. I used the extra two weeks as my notice of my intent to quit. When I got back I was told that I could get my job back, but I passed.

Have no solo trips planned right now but I've traveled solo since I was 17.. in the US, Canada, Israel, South America, Europe , and Mexico.

Ideally my next trip would probably be a return trip to Italy or France. Maybe do Germany (never been). Would depend on the time of year and where I am in my job. I've always been envious of people who have flexible work schedules (able to pick your own vacation time or you work from home) because the only vacation time I have is either in the Summer or Winter. More $$$, bad weather, and more tourists
