A lot of people learned about Mackinac from watching "Somewhere in Time"

Thanks. I had to google this to see what it was. A low-rated movie from 1980. So, not sure how many people have seen/remember it, but you may be right.

Perhaps low rated at the time, but many people (myself included) include it as one of their favorite movies of all time.

I've not seen or heard of that movie, but I remember a show about it once years ago on the Travel Channel or the Weather Channel or something. I don't think it's a huge secret. It's probably the one place I might consider visiting in Michigan. I happen to love cheesy tourist places!

I learned Mackinac Island when I did research on upper peninsula Michigan travel.

It looks like Disneyland for retirees for me.

I'd like to visit all 58 national parks. I've been to 26 so far, including some that I've visited multiple times. I've enjoyed every single visit.

It's funny but my husband and I spent a lot of time travelling overseas (mainly to Europe and Asia). While there are places overseas that we'd like to return to or visit for the first time, we're always surprised at how much we also enjoy trips to places in the U.S. There's just so much diversity here; it's mind-boggling.

Our only travel regret is that we didn't do more domestic travel when we were younger. We're making up for that now.

The pureMichigan campaign is quite successful so lots of people know about Michigan.

I have been to Alaska 6 times on cruises. Absolutely beautiful!! If you want to see the glaciers go there soon as they are melting.

Now my list is Mackinac Island next yr, the Colonial States and more of Canada. Lots of Wishes and Dreams and not much money. I will see how many trips I go on.
