I'm thinking of a trip to San Juan and wondering what the best airfare aggregator site is.

Actually what I'd really like to do is watch airfares over a period of time so I could see when the best time to book in advance is (3 months vs 2 months vs 2 weeks etc.)

Thanks!

airfarewatchdog gives you the lowest price booked on that day...some may be still available.

I've never seen an airline ticket cheaper than the company web site. The online travel agency web sites often don't pick up the discount carriers. If you want to see Southwest, you kind of have to launch their web site.

I have a bajillion United and American frequent flyer points. It keeps getting more and more difficult to book flights using them.

Agree. And they do the searching for you. But jump on something very quickly when they find it.

BTW Geoffrey, airfarewatchdog.com DOES include SW. They use real humans in addition to scraping.

It's hard to compare airlines and prices anymore because of all the various hidden fees. For example, Frontier has super low airfares, but they charge for EVERYTHING so by the time you add even the most basic things (for example a carry-on bag), the price jumps way higher than the advertised fare.

which San Juan? (That will make quite a difference in carriers / where to search)

I use googleflights, kayak and airfare watchdog. but always check the carrier b4 I buy. (I prefer to pook via carrier, especially SWA... FREE cancel / change in case of hurricane or something more drastic. Use there low fare calendar... Watch for sales (vary weekly) .
