I've actually really liked my La Quinta stays and would be quite kind in any reviews. But the hard product is limited service/budget business category hotel, and someone who got it as a 'four star' with the expectation that of four star amenities including all day restaurant and room service has good reason to be disappointed.
Just in general, I would rather stay in a brand new budget chain hotel than an older, tired full service hotel.
