Can you see if they can put you on the next flight out of Helsinki to Prague to give yourself some extra time? If it was me, I might even try to do a longer layover to explore Helsinki some. (I've always wanted to do that and never had the opportunity...we had 8 hours in Beijing onward to Bangkok, but we were so tired then that we chose to just sleep!)
I agree with the above poster on trying to get on the next flight out. They seem to do a lot of those < 60 minute layovers at European airports. I missed my flight once, and almost missed it two other times on less than one hour layovers. When I missed it, they put me on the next flight out as a courtesy at no extra charge. They told me they normally charge for that service, but they did it for me as a courtesy for free. I'll bet they tell everybody that.

They shouldn't charge for something that is their fault though... should be no charge if they give you a layover that cuts it close, that's their fault. (then again, I realize I was the one who booked it and could have booked a longer layover...) still though... I feel like it's their obligation to re-book you for free.

Yes, you go through passport control in Helsinki. This can take two minutes or longer, like everything else associated with being in transit It Just Depends.
Just focus on getting to the gate as soon as you can. No bathroom breaks, no stopping for coffee, etc. Once you get to the gate you can see if you have any extra time.

Though I've never had to go through passport control in Helsinki, I have done it in lots of other foreign destinations, and I've NEVER seen it take only two minutes, or even anything close to that. For me, 45 minutes would not be nearly enough -- I'd be spending the whole flight suffering from extreme anxiety about whether or not I'd be able to make the connection. Not to mention whether or not my checked luggage would also make the connection!

I had a 50 minute layover in Dublin a few weeks ago and at passport control there were literally just 3 people ahead of me. I didn't time it but it was a negligible amount of time.
I don't like tight connections either and try to avoid them but I was flying on miles so I sucked it up.
