Would you go out of your way to stay at a place that is reportedly haunted, either as your vacation (niche tourism) or as a stop along the way? HAVE you ever stayed at a place that was supposedly haunted? If so, was it worth it or not? I'm posting in the Travel forum specifically to reach those who DO travel.

We just stayed at Montauk Manor which is reportedly haunted. It was decorated for Halloween and had a spooky vibe. But we don't really believe in ghosts, hauntings, etc. Really beautiful hotel and I highly recommend it.

I once stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt, which is supposedly haunted by the ghost of Marilyn Monroe.

I didnít see her.

I've not intentionally gone out of my way but I favor old hotels (I keep a blog of old hotels) and have stayed at several with a reputation for being haunted. Nothing to report from there -- but I had an odd experience at a hotel that was not publicly acknowledged as haunted with very strong odor coming into a room at night for several hours that woke me up.

Ummm...you do realize ghosts do not exist right?

Yeah I've stayed at plenty of places that were reportedly haunted, took a tour of the reported Most Haunted Spot in the World - Edinburgh's Underground Vaults. Great fun! But no, no ghosts.
