Are there frequent shuttles to MsM from the town of Pontreson as well as from the car parking? How late do they run?

I can't walk long distances and the parking lot to the shuttles was an easy flat distance. See below link:

1. Not a fan of Mont Saint Michel. Crowded. Boring.
2. Huge fan of walking the invasion beaches.
3. The American cemetery AND the German cemetery should be visited. They are both moving and quite different.
4. Bayeux Tapestry should be seen.
5. WW2 museum in Caen is excellent.
6. This hotel is great -- Château de Sully
7. Drive the D and N roads. Stay off the A roads.

I've been to Mont-St-Michel several times. I agree that it is overcrowded, but the last time I went, I discovered the secret to a wonderful trip. Stay on the Mont. There are several small hotels there that are not too expensive. You can arrive in the late afternoon when the crowds are leaving, then visit the abbey in the evening and stroll the quiet streets under moonlight. You can take the first guided tours in the morning when the buses haven't arrived yet and leave once it gets too crowded. I recommend going when there is a full moon. It's enchanting.
