Another one was a helicopter ride around the Bungle Bungles in Kimberley, Western Australia. And every time we go there, the view of the Whitsundays from the golf club on Dent Island, near Hamilton Island, North Queensland.

A few places that I considered worth the visit:

Independence Hall, Philadelphia. The place where the US “officially” began. It was an honor to stand in the room where the declaration was formulated, and while the signing has been glamorized by the Charles Édouard Armand-Dumaresq painting, and the delegates did not all sign at the same time as the painting suggests (it wasn’t fully-signed until Nov 1776), 56 men essentially signed their own arrest warrant and signed away their freedoms and property, putting them on a Most Wanted list. Try finding 56 members of Congress with that level of courage today

The Old North Bridge in Massachusetts, where the “shot heard ‘round the world” was fired. While the bridge is not original, the area around it is unchanged.

The North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I spent two nights there, the first night in a tent perhaps 50 feet from the edge. Total solitude and quiet, all one could hear was the sound of a bee buzzing, a distant hawk cry, and a raven. Secluded from the tourist attractions across the Canyon, watching the sunset was awesome… I looked at my wife as the sunset, and saw a tear on her cheek. No words needed, that said it all for her.

Nearby was Zion, Utah, just spectacular, at a time when it wasn’t as well-known.

I have no desire to spend US dollars in a Communist country

I've had many opportunities over the past 30 years to visit Cuba (Legally and illegally) and my line in the sand wa drawn so I didn't go

Do you purchase anything? Literally anything at all? Because if so, you're likely stoking those fires of communism.

Commercial fishing in Alaska years ago and saw and amazing display of the Northern Lights. Like a good LSD trip swirling, dramatic, and colorful.

Monument Valley. Only thing missing was John Wayne.

I did a LSD trip with my (late) mum when I was 16 on a Mexican beach (San Felipe, BC). Unforgettable!
