What was the thing that you experienced in your travels that totally fulfilled your expectation? I'll ask that you limit yourself to one experience for the sake of brevity.

Mine? Being in the company of Michelangelo's David at the Accademia in Florence. I was completely mesmerized, and the effect has lingered to this day.

One experience? Its really hard. However, I will pick climbing to the top of Ayers Rock in the Middle of Australia back around 1990. It was than I knew I wanted to see the entire world before I died.

Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, France. An amazing feat at the time it was built. I have others, but you said only one.

Seein wildlife in the Galápagos Islands was amazing. Such unusual species. I also loved that feeling of isolation on some of the islands and seeing such a clear view of the night sky, I saw the Southern Cross for the first time.

The Aug. 2017 eclipse from Festus, MO - right on the line of totality - I was not at all prepared for totality! ...and immediately made note of the next U.S. eclipse in 2024.
