Go to Bozeman for the town’s July 4th celebration at their fairgrounds. You will never forget it. I hope to return there someday for that again.

Born in NYC; live in Charleston ... so you've got 2 right, OP! I always want to explore both of these cities and can never get enough. It's one of those things like, "the more you know, the more you realize that you don't know."
I love urban streetscapes, so I would love to visit Chicago & New Orleans & D.C. again, because they're so big that I know there's so much more to see. And then there's every city in the state of CA where I've never set foot. So many US cities ... so little time.
(And now I'll read the rest of the posts before this one & see who else agrees with me).

Spokane, Boise and Richmond.

Runners up: Salt Lake city and ABQ.

I stepped off the train for a few minutes in SLC but I don't think that counts. I could see the temple all spotlighted. I think I was on a train through Spokane but wasn't awake. I love that movie Benny and Joon.
