and if you need a phone charger, go to any hotel and ask for the lost/found box and say you left your cable there when you were there last week

Seriously, too much crap and nonsense being given way too much artificial hype in this article to make people get more fussy for many things that really don't matter.

None of 28 items have ever been noticed or bothered me (if they ever existed in my stay at a hotel).

Not sure where does the article writer stay during their trips? Those $20 an hour type motel rooms?

Why is 5 star hotel dirtier than 3 or 4 star based on that article?

lol, keep telling yourself that. I've watched all sorts of traffic on all manor of networks over the years (IT career). I don't use any internet connection outside my home without a VPN.

I worked hotel night audit while in college decades ago and then later I had a position installing/servicing the computer systems in some seriously high-end places. NONE of that stuff is new, and there'a a whole lot more. The only one that ever impacted me was credit card fraud/identity theft. Every person at the front desk, and short of 5-star places these are minimum wage positions with bad work environments, has access to all the info you provide. Address, phone numbers, credit card info, etc... Credit card theft was so bad for awhile that I kept one card that all it was used for was hotel stays, and I'd be disputing charges every ~3 stays.
