Id really like suggestions for the best NON STRESSFUL route to take driving from upstate NY on Rt 12, to the Tarpon Springs area. I figured a couple of days, we don't have to rush- it looks like the halfway mark would be in Virginia somewhere?(10-11 hour mark)
MapQuest gives 3 route choices after you hit Harrisburg PA:
Route 95 -shortest time, but looks the scariest going thru DC ?
Route 81 to 77 then hits 95 in SC
Route 15 to 29 to 73 then hits 95 in SC

Your thoughts & opinions are always appreciated!

My choice would be #2, 81-77-95. We've made the trip several times.

Take a third day and stay off the Interstates completely. Get a paper larfge-format Rand McNally road atlas (I think Walmart still has them) and take roads that look interesting. Go through towns that have interesting sounding names, or whatever whim appeals to you. When you go through towns, stop at yard sales.

Hi Mattie! is it thru the mountains or does it kind of skirt around them? just asking for next year trip if we take the mustang and are towing the motorcycle. I was def looking at # 2 or #3 -- don't like the busy interstate madness.
Thanks!!!

Hi cebuan! I was thinking of doing that on the way back--prolong the time away vaca mode! good idea on the road atlas- it would give us the time to look at different routes vs using my cellphone for just roads from here to there.
Thanks
