I'm planning a family vacation in Cancun July 4th week. Should I book now or wait a little longer?
I noticed that Expedia.com had lower pricing for hotel + flight packages instead of individually booking the hotel from the hotel web site and flight from United.com

Why wait? Unless your dates are flexible you could find yourself with less choices if you wait.

We booked our condo for that week in late January (not Cancun) because it’s a very popular week to go on vacation. Soon after school gets out, and a holiday to save one vacation day. I would rather pay a little more just to guarantee a place to stay.

I would book now, July 4th week is the most popular vacation week of the year.
In addition, book direct with the hotel, airlines, etc. When you contact them direct you will get a better rate plus if you have an issue, you will be dealing with the actual party instead of a uninterested 3rd party. There is no way you can get a better rate from Expedia than booking direct as they have to take their "pound of flesh" off of every reservation made through them.
