Looking at an Air B&B here. Good location as far as access to the major sites? Merci!

I stayed near Les Invalides when I went to Paris.

It is a nice location that I recommend, though it is pricey.

Last time I was there, long time ago, I stayed in Le Marais, before it gentrified, & found it terrific. Agree with always checking any city visit with Metro line availability.

The Marais is not in the 8th, it’s in the 3rd and 4th. But I agree.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6eme) neighborhood is filled with life (cafes, bars, galleries, etc) and walkable to may attractions. Should be on the list.

You're right! The hotel I would recommend , the Jeanne d'Arc, shows as in the 4th. https://hoteljeannedarc.com/en/

Our daughter used to live just outside that circle you drew in the 15th.

We mostly walked and had no problem sauntering up to the major sites on foot, but we are reasonably fit. The Eiffel Tower was around twenty minutes if memory serves correctly, and we walked across to the usual places the other side of the river. There are Metro stations everywhere.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés is our favorite area to stay when in Paris.
