I grew up right by there, stop in every once in a while. It's not worth a special trip, it's just a huge gas station with a few stores in it and some fast food places.

Interesting if you're driving through and want a quick break.

Realize, of course, that I'm just poking fun.. My dad used to live in Des Moines.. Just recently moved down to St Joe's when he retired last year..

I always enjoyed visiting the area.. But I refused totally to go there in the winter. He always wanted me to come up for Christmas.. Told him I didn't want to chance having to stay until Easter.

Des Moines is a beautiful area. During the summer, at least. A well-planned city.
