I will be undertaking an endeavor for work that I don't think is safely possible. It's an amazing opportunity, but this will be far beyond what I've done in the past.

Don't have an exact route setup, but below is some of the major cities I will be passing through chronologically. Bear in mind I will be doing this trip in 2 weeks which so far is all that is given to me. I will also be filming and photographing the trip in a youtube/documentary style. Looks like I may have to drive 8+ hours a day for nearly the whole time.

Cities:
-Pittsburgh, PA
-New York, NY
-Raleigh, NC
-Jacksonville, FL
-St. Louis, MO
-Denver, CO
-Southern to Northern Cali
-Seattle, WA
-Anchorage, AK

Check out the attached map for an approximate route.

Can this be done safely in 2 weeks with driving that much? Most I've ever done is 6 hours at a time for 2 days. I will have another guy/actor with me that will be splitting driving time, thank goodness.

Be sure to drive up the coast as far as you can go from LA to Portland. Take your time.

There's no way in hell you can do this in two weeks. I'm exhausted just looking at it. Focus on just one region so you can enjoy it and not just drive from Point A, to Point B, to Point C.

Ok gents sorry it's been a long time since I last replied here. Had a meeting and the whole trip has been revised completely and postponed. Meeting again in the next coming days to create a new plan that will be a bit more realistic and safe to execute.

Good thing; it was a crack-brained idea. Keep us posted.

Ok, the bosses are totally in my favor of taking more time. The driver who is staring in this show slapped a schedule together that was having us drive for 24-15 hours for multiple days...oh and stop in Vegas to gamble for a few hours. Yeah, I wasn't happy about that. I have to film and video this trip and there's no way I can function like that.

So, I took the liberty to write my own schedule with filming landmarks and safety in mind. This is still going to be one hell of a challenge, but again safety is paramount. Below is a sample of what I have so far, thoughts?

1 6/20 6:00 AM Ohio to Cary, NC 3:00 PM
1 19 6:00 PM Cary, NC Columbia, SC 10:00 PM
2 20 7:00 AM Columbia, SC Auburn, AL 12:30 PM

3 21 7:00 AM Memphis, TN Topeka, KS 4:00 PM
4 22 7:00 AM Topeka, KS Boulder, CO 3:30 PM
4 22 4:30 PM Boulder, CO Colorado Springs 6:30 PM
5 6/23 Co Springs / Pikes Peak rest day
6 6/24 8:00 AM Pikes Peak Challange 7:00 PM
7 6/25 6:00 AM Pikes Peak, CO Page, AZ 7:00 PM
8 6/26 7:00 AM Page, AZ Las Vegas, NV 12:00 PM
9 6/27 7:00 AM Las Vegas, NV Fremont, CA 5:00 PM

13 7/1 6:00 AM Willams Lake, BC Fort Nelson, YT 8:00 PM

Well, going from Ohio to the Arctic Ocean, you'll definitely be seeing a lot of North America during your trip, that's for sure!

Take the Alaska marine highway from Bellingham WA (leaves 2x / week).
https://alaskatrekker.com/planning-t...arine-highway/

You can get a cabin, or set up a tent on deck... leave the DRIVING (piloting ) to the crew. They work 24x7 while you sleep

What is the purpose of the film--some Americana compilation? Why not just start from Boulder and spread the western journey over the almost 3 weeks? If you need to start from Ohio, why not travel west via either historic route 66 or via STL, Topeka, Denver? This collection of places makes little sense to me, and remains an unpleasantly lengthy set of A to B drives. If you are bothering to film, why not plan for shorter daily drives so you can scout locations, set up shots, run takes, and not just (what appears to only be possible) handheld cam on the driver for 19 days.

Mods won't be crazy, but my job will be to film our journey around the continent.

I'm still going to push for a minimum of 3-4 weeks, a month preferably.
I skipped over this post: no offense, but this seems like a really dumb idea. Like--REALLY dumb. I assume your project focuses on the car itself, because why else would you bother modding the vehicle on the journey? So you'll need footage of the vehicle itself--you will be getting out of the car in remote places with unpredictable weather on roads that may or may not facilitate it and having the car drive by (multiple times if you need multiple takes) and you have no flexibility to wait out weather, scout good and safe locations, and you will evidently be on a shoestring budget, without professional logistics. It's a safe bet that your bosses are all under 30. Probably 25. Just hearing about this, I would probably be trying to find a better job before this project starts.
