Discovered something new (for me that is) about Google Maps street view.
One can see the snapshot history of the street whenever Google have taken it.
Not just the last time (or most current) recorded view but all the previous recorded - its archived.

You can look at the last recorded street view of a particular address and then click on the history of all the previous recorded views.
See my attached pic.

When traveling, checking out properties, etc. - one can find how the address or neighborhood have developed thru the years.

Such an Excellent resource!
Good Job Google!

That's very cool! I didn't know about this feature. It took me some time to figure out how to find it, but eventually I did. Thanks for posting this.

It's an okay feature. But be aware that there's a big flaw in how up to date it is. Construction on our home started in 2012, completed and closed in January 2013, and it still shows as an empty lot, as does the entire subdivision afaik.

You can do the same with Google Earth, so far as the satellite images. Go to View and check "Historical Imagery" and you'll get a slider on the main page where you can scan back through previous views.

Thanks Labonte.
I'm on Google Earth and love the 3D imagery but am unable to find any View setting, link or tab to "Historical Imagery".

It's the downloaded Google Earth Pro. View and check Historical Imagery.
