We are heading to Cozumel Mexico on our Honeymoon in a few weeks. Would love to get some advice on anything I absolutely need to do. Or not do!! We are staying on an all inclusive resort and flying down but would like to get out and about.

Don't drink the water!!!! Drink from sealed bottled water only. Otherwise have fun.

Be careful with fresh fruits and veges too.

We went to XCarat Ecopark when we were in Mexico. That was great. The underground river is great. You have never seen more clear water. It is a combination of a small zoo, light hiking trails, beach, snorkeling area. There are some ruins there as well.

Chichen Itza is also worth doing as is Talum. Both have several ruins.

Only spent one day in the Cozumel area (cruise). We went to Tulum, which is very cool. But, if you go, take swimsuits and towels and climb down to the beach - absolutely gorgeous beaches! We wished we had known before we went. Bring plenty of sunscreen - it's hot as blazes down there! And definitely drink only bottled water (or beer or tequila!!!)

We rented a scooter and rode around the Island, it was pretty exciting. Night in Playa Del Carmen is also wonderful, there is a nice restaurant with musicians near the beach.

I know you're not going on a cruise but look at the website, Cruise Critic - Cruises, Cruise Ship Reviews, Ratings, Cruise Deals, Cruise Forums. In their forums look under ports of call, Cozumel. You'll find recommendations for restaurants and other things to do. There are also many restaurants and beaches that cater so much to the American tourist that they have filtered water and ice so you'll be ok. This is only at the more modern places though.

Check out Tripadvisor.com usually they have a bunch of reviews from actual people who have been to wherever. Have fun, let us know how it was thinking about a trip to Cozumel in early Nov. ourselves. We went to Cancun for our honeymoon in Oct. 01' there are some nice places to shop there. While your there you have to checkout the nightlife even if its not your thing its was truly crazy.

I agree with a trip to Tulum. Just incredible, but VERY hot. And like the previous poster said, bring bathing suits and sunscreen! Have a wonderful honeymoon
