I have seen that on my research but the price of the safaris and airfare is currently pricing me out.

Have you priced the cost of a self-drive safari in Kruger National Park or in Namibia? They can cost quite a bit less than the guided ones.

Africa for me but not because of the money. The trip would be horrendous. I was in my 30's when we went to Australia and it was a miserable trip. I can't imagine how hard that trip will be, and I'd have to go by myself. My husband refuses to go.

Mauritius.

US ---> Europe ---> Dubai ---> Mauritius

is the typical flight path I'd have to take. And it is oh so expensive.

But it does look pretty in pictures.

When I was in the 4th grade, I decided one day I was going to visit the Potala Palace in Lhasa. My teacher told me that was ridiculous, that I was never going to do something like that.

Well, at 71 it still hasn't happened but I'm not dead yet and I may still get there. Hope springs eternal.
