You do occasionally see someone wearing a mask at an American airport (more of them if they've flown in or are flying out to Asia), but if your goal is warmth, I doubt you'll need a mask at all. Airports are heated.
dress up as an Asian, and wear the mask. when someone stops you, wave your arms and say "no English" repeatedly. then show them your boarding pass and they will let you go on your way
every travel picture out of Asia has people in masks, so no one blinks an eye at them for wearing one
edit:make sure you don't eat ketchup... anything red on a mask will look like blood and you get tazered
