Thinking of a trip to Greece during January, February or March 2020. Not sure where in Greece to go. Looking for beautiful area to experience Greece at its best and of course a bit budget friendly.

If you want off the normal touristy spots I would recommend you stay on the mainland. Still plenty of beaches, mountains clubbing restaurants and you can avoid the overpriced spots of Mykonos, Paros etc

Kalamata, Monevasia, Evia, Chalkidiki are some spots to consider

The south coast of Crete will be still fairly warm in the winter, thye grow alot of produce in the winter for export to the rest of Europe. There are some interesting ruins in Ierapetra, but the villages are just small & not too touristy ( well when I was there, many years ago) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ierapetra
I guess much will depend on what your interests are. You could spend some time in Athens & some on Crete.
