I am most likely the research queen when It comes to most things and travel is not exception . That was my nickname in the office "The Research Queen " LOL . Seriously though I check and re check and check again before making any definite plans . So yeah I do my research and then some . I think it is irresponsible not to do so .

day trips or weekends I tend to just point the truck and go. Sometimes I do not ever reach my intended destination, sometimes I do not have an intended destination. trips where I may not ever have the chance to return, I tend to plan a lot. I hate to get back and then learn about a ton of things way cooler to see than what I saw. if I will be there for a while I mill try to mix it up. Some planned excursions, and some random exploring. In general i find it is the people you meet more than the things you see that make a trip memorable.

I will literally get on Google maps and get down to street view to know my turns.

When we arrived late one night in Durban, South Africa, we had a 20 kilometer drive to our downtown hotel. I literally went to street view to make sure I knew what landmarks to look for so I'd know when to turn.
