LV options (which I really enjoy)
  1. Valley of Fire (1 hr north, great camping) http://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire https://www.valley-of-fire.com/
  2. Red Rock Canyon (20 min west)
  3. UT National Parks... 3 - 10+ hr loop
  4. Death Valley
  5. Hoover Dam
  6. Aerial tours to GC

All of those interest me, but I wouldn't try to combine them with a Vegas trip except for maybe the Hoover Dam if I had a rental car (never have in Vegas). Unfortunately I'm in the same boat as most americans...a week long vacation *maximum*, and more often just a 3 or 4 day weekend.

Hawaii -- been there 5 times and would love to go again. It's just so beautiful there.

Seoul -- been there once and I felt like I barely scratched the surface.

Paris -- been there once and loved it, and for years thereafter wanted to return. But now I'm not so sure, given what I've been hearing about what's been going on there. Let's say that I would like to return to the Paris of 1982 again and again. While I'm there, though I don't know if I would want to visit repeatedly, I'd like to see Angers and the Loire Valley again.

If I think about where I've spent my money and frequent flyer points to travel as opposed to business travel, my pattern is:

Summer skiing in Chile. Valle Nevado and Chillan. I've been there a bunch of times.

Vancouver, BC + Whistler/Blackcomb. My sister lives there but it's always a great place to visit.
Portugal and Galicia over the border in Spain. 3 trips in 4 years.

There are other places I've been to many times on business where I'd like to return as a tourist. I really like Alsace. We're doing Italy in May. Paris. London. Amsterdam. Stockholm.

Newport, Rhode Island (my favorite) - I lived there for one year; wanted to stay. I loved it there!

Iceland - I lived there for three years and my son was born there. It's an interesting place, for sure!

Cape Elizabeth, Maine - I visited here a lot when living in Portland, Maine. Mmm... lobster rolls!
