My problem is booking aisle or window seats and getting stuck with a middle seat. This has happened on United twice. Bait and switch.

Of course, airplane seats except first-class are ridiculously cramped and I find it ironic that with all of the "safety" regulations on airplanes, it's basically the Wild West when it comes to airlines having to provide a reasonably sized seat and not making the seating dangerously overcrowded.

I still don't see a reason to bring a seat cushion. But I generally don't like carrying more stuff than I have to.
YES, a packed C141 with jump seats. From CA to HI to Guam, back to Guam (plane broke) then finally iwakuni Japan. I was pretty much in tears after the first 15 hours.

I can deal with commercial airline seats.

Yep. Iíve done the CA to HI to Guam RT route multiple times. I donít know the model of the plane, but it made Frontier look like Lifestyles if the Rich and Famous.

Yuck. And I thought 3 seater Cessnas were bad. When the pilot reaches over my lap to shut the door, that's too close for comfort.
