We flew Frontier last year, no problems. Very polite flight staff and pleasant flights. The seats were about the same width as other airlines. We only had carry-on luggage and upgraded our seats to sit closer to the front because of tight connecting flight times, so that cost extra. It was quite a savings over other airlines, but if you have checked baggage the fees do add up quickly. Your best bet is to walk through making a reservation including checked luggage and then determine if the final price still meets your expectations.

I'm a big guy and remember it being a relatively comfortable flight compared to some others, including legacy carriers. I've done it four or five times.

The baggage fees are going to be steeper, and they'll charge you to print your boarding pass at the airport.

The "Hack" is to pay baggage fees when you book the ticket.
