Hello Guys,

I would like to ask for assistance

I'm planning to go on a road trip this coming weekend.

Hopefully, I can tackle Highway 101 from Malibu to Lompoc alone.

Anyone who can help me prepare for my adventure?

Thanks in advance.

Rent an RV? (since posted in the renting forum). You can get pretty crazy on your 120 mile / 2 hour road trip!

That’s a two hour drive, not a road trip. Just make sure you have gas in your car and turn it on before you try to leave.

And pee before you leave.

If you are going to be gone for more than 2 days, turn off the main water valve and turn off the water heater.

If you are going to be gone for a week or more, notify the landlord so he can keep an eye on things and won't worry if the neighbors are reporting that they haven't seen you.

Make sure you remove things from the fridge that will spoil in the time that you are gone.

I leave a light on somewhere in the center of the house and I do not leave the porch light on. Nothing says "no one is home" more clearly than a bright porch light.

Stop as you walk out the door and make sure the toilets aren't running.

Don't leave your pets there unless you have a very reliable pet sitter.

I consider a road trip when you drive 10 hours a day and for a few days, your trip is a 2 hour drive.

All you need is a bottle of water in case you get thirsty.

Heck - you can probably even hold it until you get there.

I always like to bring a book or my knitting wherever I go. And sunglasses.

Like others here, I wonder why you think a two-hour drive is a major undertaking requiring advice. Is this really the first time you've done it?
