In a few days I'm going to Portugal & staying for the month of June, basically touring around the whole country to get a feel of several places/regions. I might've stayed longer except for a family obligation at the end of June here in the US that I have to be back for. If things go well I will probably return in the fall to stay longer in the place(s) that interest me most.

Nothing far away or requiring much advance reservation. There is too much work to do around our place, and besides, it is beautiful right at home. Any extensive or elaborate travel can wait.

I’ve got quite a growing list of things to do and places to visit/revisit, most of which can be done on short notice. They are all western US: CO, NM, AZ, UT, WY, TX, CA, NV.

Farther away, I want to go back to HI in the not-too-distant future, but not in summer. Ditto for AK, but not in winter, LOL.

I was able to find a hotel rate I'm happy with, so I'll be heading to the beach for a few days. The hotel gave me an extra 20% as a member if I stay during my birthday month. So, I'm heading to the beach in June for my birthday.

I'm envious.

Longest holiday I ever took was 2 months of travelling. 6 now, seems about right

since next yr (2020) is an election yr in USA... 12 - 14 months is a good length of time to be away from USA (So we have discovered).

Really quite cheap to do, but... you will find most everyone overseas is more interested, affected, and knowledgeable about USA politics than your typical USA neighbors.

A week in Maine from 6/7-6/15.

I'll probably do several weekend or long weekend trips. I'll probably go to Cincinnati for a Reds game. Maybe a long weekend at Myrtle or Folly Beach. If I can swing it, I'd like to do a four day weekend in DC or Atlanta.

Bimini
Keys
Keys
South Beach
Sarasota/Siesta Key
Disney

That's all for now. Since it is our off season, we try and get our vacation in between now and December.

No idea where else. Maybe Italy.
