No. wouldn't think of it at all. Risk assessment says no.

After the Gulf War, if Iraq and area had got their little duckies in a row for archaeology type tourism, I would have loved seeing the truly ancient world. I would also have loved seeing ancient Asia Minor , now Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon but it isn't worth the risk.

I'll second you on that. Pakistan has the ancient empire of Harappa within its borders, and visiting those ancient archaeological sites would be absolutely fascinating, but no way is it worth the risk now.

The UK FCO's advice for Pakistan overall has it fairly safe to travel with caution advised for travelers, with only certain regions listed as avoid non essential travel and a few listed as avoid all travel. Additionally, the government of Canada has it's level of advice for Islamabad at exercise a high degree of caution.

What, are you just shopping around for the worst destinations? You need a nice relaxing week in Ireland or France.

If it were a 100% free trip, I wouldn't go. So, my answer is.....I DOUBT IT.

That's because the people with the big guns in Israel are our "friends."

That term would be a bit more sketchy in regards to Pakistan.

Israel isn't quite the same. We are allies with them, they don't oppress their people.
