Does anyone have any experience with how strict Westjet is on their carry-on bag size restrictions? They seem to have one of the smallest maximum sizes (21 x 15 x 9) of all carriers. I'm having trouble finding a spinner suitcase that will fit inside those dimensions.

They're usually pretty good. Depends on the load and the destination.

The smallest length I've found is 21.75 inches, and I'm wondering - since it is the length that is too big - whether the overhead compartment door would be able to close if I exceeded the length. This would be a flight from Vancouver down to the US.

Here you go: https://www.ebags.com/category/lugga...-on/f/carry-on

You want to look for a 19" carryon spinner (also called an international-sized carryon).
