Maui, a few years ago, staying in a condo for a week. I don’t know how much it cost in all, but the airfares and condo came to about $3,000 for the two of us. Then we had a rental car, gas, food and entertainment.

The Netherlands in 2008 for 10 days in country. The exchange rate was brutal. With flight, apartment, Euro Rail pass, Museum pass, tram pass, plus daily spending cash it was around $8000 for the 2 of us.

I really miss the Guilder. It was hard to spend $100 a day in 2000. Then in 08 it was hard to get by on $200 a day.

A nine-day New Hampshire/Maine vacation in 2016 when we took a Windjammer Cruise for my husband's 60th birthday; we flew to Manchester and then rented a car. Either that or a nine-day driving vacation from Colorado to SoCal and Napa in September 2017, which came to a total about $5,000, I think. We stayed in a nice B&B every night and had many wine tours and wine dinners in Napa. We almost always stay in very nice B&B's for multi-night stays. Btw, we have to board two pets for about $500 a week for both of them, so that adds to the total.

Usually, our vacations average about $450 a day (including pet boarding) and vary from a long weekend to a long week.

Probably the current trip if this counts as a vacation/holiday. It's actually probably quite cheap overall (most of my travels are) but the sheer length of this trip combined with the fact that we are now a family of four will make it the most expensive I am guessing. Probably will end up around $6-7k (USD) for our 9.5 weeks of travel, if you count every expense, though I suppose some (like food and entertainment) would have been spent at home anyway.
