Has anyone been to Venezuela - Margarita Island? There is a week available for us to go this summer. Okay for Americans? Family w/ kids?

Angel Falls looks AWESOME! We are open to going out of the country as we do travel outside of it often just haven't thought of Venezuela.

Check out : www.discovermargaritaisland.com.

It's a website run by a guy named Scott Boswell from Mississippi who also writes articles about Margarita Island for EscapeArtist Home Page: Living Overseas - International Real Estate, Overseas Jobs - Expatriate Resources - Overseas Retirement - an online magazine.

I haven't been there but I have friends from Boston who visited several times. They just loved it. From what I've heard, very safe, relatively friendly, English often spoken, not too expensive. If you go and like it, let me know? It's on my list.

Thanks. I checked those out and read a bit more. Opted out of going right now. The flight times were NOT good to connect thru Caracas to get to Margarita Island at all. Maybe another time.

I am also interested in Margarita island. Can you share what you learned or share your experience if you went?
