Back when most suitcases looked the same people would tie a piece of ribbon onto the handle to make it easier to spot. One day I was working in the bag room where we loaded suitcases into carts to send out to the airplanes. I went up to the check in counter for a minute. We tied a piece of green ribbon the the handle of every suitcase loaded on that flight. I only wish I could have been there to see the look on his face when everyones bags showed up with green ribbons on the handles.

Own just a standard black luggage bag... has a couple of green ribbons on it to make it easier to identify.
