Greyhound would work. You'd have to call them to ask about the fare, but from Minneapolis (just a guess) to Laramie would be 1 day, 6 hours, with two transfers. They go down I-35 to Des Moines, then across on 80 to Laramie.

I'm really having trouble getting anything from greyhound to go into Wyoming. I see Amtrak doesn't. How far is Denver from Cheyenne which I guess is the town they want him to work in. He needs someone to pick him up and if it is really far away. I don't know any other towns in Colorado that would come closer to Cheyenne then Denver on Amtrak. I'm about to give up.

Greyhound subcontracts to local bus lines in sparsely-populated areas of the U.S.
On that link I gave you above, you can enter all the info. Or phone their 800 number 800-231-2222 and talk to a person.

Try other Bus Companies like Jefferson.

Have you looked into flights. The bus and train are often more expensive then airfare.

I just looked on the Jefferson Bus lines, Minneapolis to Buffalo, WY (is that close??) is $130.00 one way. Round trip flights leaving at the end of the month or so to Cheyenne are in the $390 range-round trip.
