I love traveling cross-country. My husband and I did it for a long time, since we first met. When I was in the Army, stationed in Ft. Bragg, N.C., we used to drive from there to here in Arizona when I took 30 day leave. It only took us 2 1/2 days. He's a great driver. I'd do some during the day, but he loves to drive. And we'd drive back too when I had 5 days left of my leave.
We have also traveled from here to Florida and will be doing it again next month (for our vacation). We will stop at my hometown of Beaumont, Texas and stay with my mom for a couple of days. It's a lot of fun. I love long road trips.
My cousin and I will be driving from Pennsylvania to California. We both will take turns driving. About how many miles will it be possible to travel in a day? And how many days do you think it will take to get there? We are coming from Northwestern, PA, near Erie, and will be going to San Diego.
I was wondering also the best route to go. We want to avoid as many toll roads as possible.
go south to pick up Interstate 70 [free] turn right to Utah....turn Left on interstate 15 thru Las Vegas [be sure to leave us some of your money] and continue on to San Diego.....GOT to be the simplest drive in all of the USofA Atlantic city to Las Vegas was 2551 miles then on to San Diego...another 250 or so....fun drive....good scenery... good Interstate.
