Why pay more and get less? I don't know why some hotels have the nerve to charge extra for amenities.
My husband travels for work and is required to stay in medium to lower tier hotels, such as Fairfield Inn, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Best Western, Quality Inn. Even these can be a little pricy in certain areas. His company is in a plan in which these hotels will cost between $39. and $79. a night. With this he always gets free breakfast, wireless internet, free parking, usually a newspaper, clean room with good bed.
In the past year he has attended conferences at a couple of hotels which cost $200.+ a night, and also we just used points to stay at a Marriott which charged $179. a night.
At a $200+ hotel in Texas, he was charged for parking, internet, and had no free breakfast. At our $179. hotel, free parking, but no internet and no free breakfast.
